The Importance of Double Toning with Ebright Skin Exfo & Hydrating Toner

By Salsabilla Kiranasafira – January 17, 2022

In the past year, I really like double toning with exfoliating toner and hydrating toner. I do this double toning every day in the AM and PM routine. I want to explain first about the difference between exfoliating and hydrating toners.

  • Exfoliating Toner – a toner that works to remove dead skin cells or clean pores. Usually contains AHA or BHA.
  • Hydrating Toner – a toner that serves to provide hydration to the skin

So I think the double toning function is to prepare the face before the next skincare step. What’s the difference with using just one toner? So double toning is more complete. Exfoliating toner cleanses the face of dead skin cells and dirt in the pores, then moisturizes with a hydrating toner. Oh yes, for this double toning, make sure the exfoliating toner is mild, not the strong one, because it will make it dry and irritated 🙁

This time I want to share a product that I really like to use for double toning. The product is from Ebright Skin, a local brand which in my opinion is a beautiful product! I tried First Preparation AHA Probiotic Face Toner and Mugwort O’Cica Hydrating Toner.

The claims of these two products are

  • Fight free radicals
  • Helps rejuvenate skin
  • Help reduce acne
  • Helps calm redness
  • Improve and protect the skin barrier
  • Maintain skin hydration & moisture level
  • Prevent premature aging
  • Shrink pores & control skin oil

Ebright Skin First Preparation AHA Probiotic Face Toner

I use this First Preparation AHA Probiotic Face Toner as an exfoliating toner. As the name implies, this product is a first preparation that is used after washing your face and before using high-concentration skincare products such as serum.

Ebright Skin Review

This product is packaged in an orange bottle with a spray applicator. Ebright Skin First Preparation AHA Probiotic Face Toner is available in two sizes, 40 ml and 100 ml. The one I use is the 40 ml one.

When it comes to spray bottles, it doesn’t feel right if you don’t review the sprayer. Honestly, it’s super soft, it doesn’t hurt when it hits your face. He’s also the type to be sprayed with relaxed power, not full power. I like it!

Ebright Skin Review

This Ebright Skin First Preparation AHA Probiotic Face Toner contains Probiotics. Probiotics are good bacteria that function to balance the skin’s pH and protect the skin from free radical damage. I still feel that the probiotic content is really good for my skin #BetterWithProbiotic. In addition, there are several other contents, namely:

  • Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate – Strengthens the skin barrier and anti-aging
  • Alpha Arbutin – fade acne scars and black spots
  • Lactic Acid – overcome hyperpigmentation and darkspot
  • Allantoin – relieve irritation
  • Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract – Absorbs excess oil production and acts as an antioxidant

This product is already BPOM (NA18211204908) and halal (00150095890519) too!

Texture and Scents Ebright Skin First Preparation AHA Probiotic Face Toner

The texture of Ebright Skin First Preparation AHA Probiotic Face Toner is liquid, very light, doesn’t make the skin feel sticky. As for the aroma itself, it smells a little sour, but it doesn’t bother me.

Ebright Skin Mugwort O’Cica Hydrating Toner

The second product is Ebright Skin Mugwort O’Cica Hydrating Toner. This is a hydrating toner, used after exfoliating toner. So this Ebright Skin Mugwort O’Cica Hydrating Toner is the second step, right!

Ebright Skin Review

Similar to the previous product, this Ebright Skin Mugwort O’Cica Hydrating Toner is packaged in a 40 ml spray bottle. In addition to the 40 ml size, there is also a full size, which is 100 ml. The difference is in the color of the product. If the previous product was orange, this Ebright Skin Mugwort O’Cica Hydrating Toner is green.

Ingredients for Ebright Skin Mugwort O’Cica Hydrating Toner

Ebright Skin Review

This Ebright Skin Mugwort O’Cica Hydrating Toner has a unique content in my opinion. Usually hydrating toners contain hyaluronic acid, but this product doesn’t. Let’s try to discuss the contents one by one.

  • Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate – Strengthens the skin barrier and anti-aging

  • Artemisia Vulgaris Extract (Mugwort) – soothes inflammation, brightens and moisturizes facial skin
  • Allantoin – relieve irritation

My Thoughts About Ebright Skin Exfo & Hydrating Toner

Honestly, I really like these two products! Especially when used with the double toning method. The skin feels healthier and the problematic skin barrier also improves. I routinely double toning with Ebright Skin products in the morning and evening for approximately 2 weeks. First, I used Ebright Skin First Preparation AHA Probiotic Face Toner first. After soaking into the skin, I continued to use Ebright Skin Mugwort O’Cica Hydrating Toner.

Ebright Skin Review

Earlier this month, my skin was still acne-prone and had a lot of breakouts. There is no definite trigger, but I think one of the reasons is my poor skin barrier. I finally decided to back to the basic listen CTMP but for the toning step, I did double toning with Ebright Skin products.

The results can be seen in the photo. My acne is flat, breakouts have also subsided and my skin looks healthier. I really like the result!

Okay, now it’s time to check between the claims and the results that I feel…

  • Fight free radicals – I don’t really know the result of this claim
  • Helps rejuvenate skin – I think it is, because my skin looks a bit brighter and more supple
  • Help reduce acne – right on!!!
  • Helps calm redness – this too!
  • Improve and protect the skin barrier – as I explained before, these two products made my skin barrier condition improve
  • Maintain skin hydration & moisture level – yes
  • Prevent premature aging – mmm, maybe? not very visible
  • Shrink pores & control skin oil – I don’t really feel like these two claims
So far, I really like this product. Oh yes, this Double Toning Ebright Skin product is safe to use starting from the age of 14 years. This product is also safe for pregnant and lactating women.
