Senka Perfect Whip Review : My New Holygrail
By Salsabilla Kiranasafira – August 09, 2019
Honestly, I feel really left behind because I just tried a product that has been hyped for a long time, namely Senka Perfect Whip. At first I was interested in trying it too because I read your comments on the post Morning Skincare RoutineI was the one who advised me to try another facial foam. Incidentally a few days after reading the comments on that post, I went to Mutiara (one of the cosmetic shops in Jogja) and saw this Senka Perfect Whip. I want to try it right away, but I’m afraid it won’t fit. Finally tried the small one first (50 gr).
Senka is a skincare brand from Japan which is also a subsidiary of the Shiseido Group. One of the best products is Senka Perfect Whip and has become the number 1 facial foam product in Japan and South Korea.
This product has 2 sizes, 120 grams and 50 grams, mine is 50 grams. I personally would prefer the 50 gram one because it can be used at home and taken when traveling without the need to move to small places.
On the back of the packaging is written complete information about the product. From the claim, how to use, warnings, ingredients, and production information.
The usual packaging cap, which is rotated and removed from the packaging body. But the size of the 120 gram lid seems to be in a flip model.
Water, Stearic Acid, PEG-8, Myristic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Polyquaternium-7, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Metabisulfite, PEG-14, Dimethyl Ether, Sodium Hyaluronate , Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Sericin, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Hydrolyzed Silk, Lauric Acid
If you read the list of ingredients, at first you will see Alcohol. Yes, this product is not alcohol-free, so for those of you who have sensitive skin with alcohol, I think it’s better to look for other products that are alcohol free 😉
This product contains Hydrolyzed Silk which is a White Cocoon Essence. This material is claimed to produce foam in large quantities but has a soft texture. In addition, there are also Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol and Glycerin which can moisturize the skin.
It should be noted that this product also contains comedogenic ingredients (based on the analysis in Skincarisma), namely Stearic Acid, Myristic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate SE, and Lauric Acid. But these ingredients also have a good function for the skin. Myristic Acid can clean excess oil and dirt on the face and Lauric Acid can brighten.
Smell and Texture
In the product description, this Senka Perfect Whip smells like a fresh flower. At first I was curious, how fresh it is. It smells really good, it’s really fresh. Smells almost the same as St. Ives the apricot, heaven is so delicious :’)
The texture is like liquid soap. Very soft, not cream but not gel either. The color is white like the photo above. This product contains no scrub at all, really gentle.
To wash your face using this product, you only need to use a small amount because it produces a lot of foam. But the foam is very soft, not like liquid soap foam. For more foamy results, you can use a foaming net. But for me personally, just using my hands is enough.
After switching from Ponds to Senka, what I feel is that my skin is getting softer and more supple. After washing your face, your skin feels clean without any pulling sensation. My dry skin also doesn’t get drier after washing my face, it’s really comfortable and moisturised.
The use of this product also needs to be balanced with other products. As I explained in the Ingredients section, some of the ingredients in this product are comedogenic, so to avoid the build-up effect of blackheads, we must also exfoliate diligently! 🙂
For now, Senka Perfect Whip is my favorite facial wash and I use it every day. What kind of facial wash do you use?
