Review of Marks Micellar Water – bella ‘ s

By Salsabilla Kiranasafira – October 02, 2019

A few months ago while playing at the Jakarta Fair, I stopped by Markcs’ booth. Who doesn’t know Marks? A local brand that has a million people’s loose powder! Hahaha. There I bought several products, one of which is Micellar Water!

So actually this Micellar Water is one of the products from the Marcks Active & Teens range of Marcks Cosmetics. This product is available in 2 sizes, 100ml and 250ml. I bought the 250 ml one and it turns out I got the 100 ml one for free. Are you curious about the performance of this micellar water?

This product is packaged in clear plastic packaging and combined with a purplish pink color and, of course, yellow. This packaging design is really an upgrade. Local products are now cool, the packaging is cool.

For the lid, the shape is like this. The color is yellow and the material is plastic. It’s standard for micellar water.

This product is capable Cleans and removes dirt and make-up residue on the face, helps the face look brighter naturally, protects skin from minor irritation, and can be natural moisturizer which is suitable for all skin types.

Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Sodium Cocoyl Alaninate, Alcohol Denat, Niacinamide, Lactic Acid, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Fragrance, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate.

Early warning, this product is not alcohol-free. So for those whose skin is not suitable for using alcoholic products, you should avoid this product. Because alcohol is on the 4th ingredient list. This product contains Niaciminade which we all know that its function is to brighten. Then there is Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract or Chamomile Extract. The function of this Chamomile extract is to help overcome skin problems, such as acne, irritation, etc.

For this product problem Muslim friendly or not, I honestly don’t know. Because I dm Marcks Cosmetics Instagram account also only read: ””’). But I tried browsing and found an article on here. Glycerin can be obtained from animals or plants. If a product contains other ingredients derived from plants, it can be assumed that the glycerin also comes from plants (cmiiw). And glycerin from plants tends to be safer for sensitive skin. While my skin is sensitive and using this product it’s okay, so…. I think this product can still be tried.

Smell and Texture

This product smells fresh. It’s different from the legendary powder scent, this one is fresher! The aroma itself is quite pungent, yes, but for me it doesn’t matter because it’s delicious, very fresh. For the texture, like micellar water in general. But it doesn’t make it sticky and slippery. There is micellar water which makes the skin sticky and smooth.

Oh yes, when it is applied to clean skin, it will foam like this. I don’t know how can that be. But every time I clean my face with this, on the second cotton swab (when it’s clean), it’s definitely foamy like this. Then just rinse and it doesn’t make the skin slippery.

I’ve used this product a quarter of the way. I personally like it because it doesn’t make my skin slippery after using it. Some micellar water makes it slippery, even though after cleaning with micellar water I always double cleanse with a facial wash, but that’s how it feels.

Now to see the performance, I tested using several products. From top to bottom : Benefit They’re Real Mascara, BLP Eyeshadow Pen, BrunBrun Cream Blush, Maybelline Hypersharp Eyeliner, and Fanbo Lipcream.

left : before | right: wipe once using Marks Micellar Water

That’s just one swipe. It looks like the mascara and eyeliner can’t be removed yet. For eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick, it’s pretty good.

The second photo, has been rubbed several times. All waterproof makeup like mascara and eyeliner can be removed. But yeah, it’s not just one swipe.

Now, let’s see the claim and the reality….

  • Cleans and removes dirt and make-up residue on the face – yup! even for waterproof eye makeup!
  • helps the face look brighter naturally – No, it’s okay. better use skincare that can brighten wkwk
  • protects skin from minor irritation – It’s also not that harsh, but for my sensitive skin, it’s safe to use this to clean my face
  • natural moisturizer – You could say yes, because after using this, there is no skin pulling sensation. So I think this micellar water is quite moisturizing too

Now, you can get this product at the nearest Kimia Farma Pharmacy or in your favorite e-commerce at a price of 42,500 for 250 ml and 26,500 for 100 ml.
