Elsheskin Hydrating Moisturizer Cream Review

By Salsabilla Kiranasafira – July 30, 2019

Moisturizer is a skincare product that is very important for all skin types. Whether it’s normal, dry, oily, combination, everyone needs a moisturizer. Why? Because as the name suggests, a moisturizer must have a moisturizing function or maintain skin moisture. Moisturizer will lock the water and oil content on the skin.

So, what’s the difference between moisturizing and hydrating? Of course it’s different. For a moisturizer whose function is moisturizing, it contains ingredients that can lock the water and oil levels in the skin. While the moisturizer whose function is for hydrating contains ingredients that can absorb water so that it can increase the water content in the skin. Products that work to hydrate are very important for dry and dehydrated skin because they have the ability to increase water content.

One product that has both functions (moisturizing and hydrating) is Elsh├ęSkin Hydrating Moisturizer Cream.

I usually use this product as a night cream. Because this product does not contain SPF and UV Protection so it is light and safe to use at night.

This product has a claim to help treat sensitive skin and maintain skin moisture and softness. On the front of the package it says intense hydration. Which means it can provide intensive hydration to our skin.

This product is in the form of a 15 gram jar. I think it’s super mini for a moisturizer. In fact, it seems like a travel size, hihi. On the packaging it’s written on the function, how to use it, ingredients, expiry date, and so on. Complete and super informative. There are products whose information is only on the cardboard.

When the lid was opened, the protective cover was still there….

Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Laureth-23, Sodium Dicocoylethylenediamine Peg-15 Sulfate, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Behenyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Trehalose, Squalane, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA, Glycine Soja) Oil (Soybean) Sodium Oleate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Oligopeptide-34, Ethylhexylglycerin, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, VP/VA Copolymer, Phenyl Trimethicone, Dimethicone, Lecithin, Glycolipids, Caprylcoyl Glycol, Allantoin , Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Alpha-bisabolol

If you look at the ingredients, it’s true that it can be moisturizing and hydrating at the same time. There is Caprylic which functions as an emollient and functions to moisturize and soften the skin, Glycerin which functions as a humectant that can hydrate the skin, and various types of oil that have a moisturizing function. Oh yeah, what’s important about this product is that it doesn’t contain alcohol!

Texture and Aroma

This product contains a lot of humectants so the texture is like a mixture of cream and gel. Very light and not sticky. This product also does not take long to absorb into the skin. Smells good, nothing irritates the nose at all. Just like regular cream.

after leveling

My skin type is normal to dry, and there are times when my skin is really dry to itchy and textured. Very annoying right? So that time I tried to use this product as a night cream. Just apply it a little bit because the texture is cream gel so it only takes a little bit to cover it up. When you wake up in the morning, it’s damp again. The texture is gone and it doesn’t sting anymore. After using this product on a regular basis, my skin is rarely dry which makes it sore and textured again.
