Avoskin Retinol Toner Review for Dry Skin

By Salsabilla Kiranasafira – August 30, 2020

Have you read my post about Elsheskin Serum Retinol not yet? If so, you must be familiar with retinol. Now, as a new kid in his 20s, I’m really excited to explore products with this retinol ingredient. Besides using elsheskin serum, I also tried toner from Avoskin, namely Miraculous Retinol Toner.

Previously, Avoskin already had other Miraculous skincare lines, namely Miraculous Refining Toner and Ampoule. If the refining series products focus on exfoliation, this retinol focuses on anti-aging.

The packaging of this product is very similar to the refining series product, it is quite difficult to distinguish if you don’t see the product description on the front. With brown and black colors combined with white writing, the packaging of this product looks simple.

The mouth of the bottle of this product is small enough so that the product inside does not spill easily. In addition to the small bottle hole, the texture of this product is quite thick, so to remove the product, you need to shake the packaging first.

This product uses 1% actosome retinol which contains 0.09% active retinol. Actosome retinol is a type of retinol that causes less irritation, so it is safer for the skin. In addition, there are contents 3% niacinamide, peptide, pomegranate, and also vitamin E.

Textures & Scents

The texture of this product is a little thick and milky. When applied, this product feels a little sticky. As for the scent, I think it’s a bit similar to Elsheskin Radiant Skin Serum but it’s still okay and doesn’t bother me.

My Thoughts

I have been using this product since the end of July. But at that time I was also trying Elsheskin’s retinol serum. My fault is that I use both at the same time, it’s my breakout 🙂 Then I stopped using both. When the breakout is a bit better (but it hasn’t healed yet), I tried using this toner again. At first, I thought that my acne would reappear when I used this product for the second time. Then I stopped again and really waited until my acne healed.

Surprisingly, when I used this product again for the third time, the results were good. He helps remove acne scars and make skin texture becomes smoother. One more thing I like about this product is him moist. Even though retinol usually makes skin dry, this product actually makes it moist. I like to combine him with hydrating toner previously. So skin really feels super moisturized afterwards.

Overall, this product is enough for me really for those of you who are just trying to retinol for the first time. With a note that you don’t just make it barbaric right away. Don’t take the example of me who immediately combines this product with other retinol products, then put it on every night again. If I suggest, you can patch test first on the skin area that you think is the most sensitive. If it’s okay, you can continue to use it once every 2-3 days. Once it feels right, just use it every day.

If you ask, is it better to use Aviskun Miraculous Retinol Toner or Elsheskin Active Rejuvenating Night Serum? My answer is according to your needs. If you need something ‘light’ or gentle, you can try this Avoskin retinol toner. Even though it’s a toner, the retinol content is also enough to prevent premature aging. If you want something more ‘strong’, you can use Elsheskin’s retinol serum because I think it really gives results in a fairly short time.

Oh yeah, don’t forget that if you use retinol skincare at night, you have to use sunscreen in the morning. Apart from the fact that retinol does make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, if you don’t use sunscreen then whatever skincare you use may not be of any use at all. So don’t forget to use sunscreen diligently!

You can get this product at a price of 179,000 rupiah. You can visit Avoskin website for more info about this product!
